The Biological Sciences Program is recognized as a first-class undergraduate program in Zhejiang Province, a key program in Zhejiang Province and an emerging specialty in Zhejiang Province in the "12th Five-Year Plan" and "13th Five-Year Plan".

The program is in line with the "Healthy China 2030" plan, which is based on the in-depth cross-fertilization of biology and traditional Chinese medicine, and focuses on scientific and technological innovation. The program aims to serve the biomedical health industry in the Greater Bay Area of Zhejiang Province and to cultivate first-class innovative talents in biology who can apply solid biological principles and technologies to solve practical problems in the fields of biomedicine and health. The program promotes the integration of "first, second and third classrooms" through the training mechanism of "tutors - senior students - junior students", and promotes the cultivation of students' scientific research and innovation ability.
